MATTAPOISETT HISTORICAL SOCIETY and
MUSEUM
Needed: Curator for the Mattapoisett
Historical Society and Museum
Salary: $20,000 for 18 hours a week
Our vision for the Mattapoisett
Historical Society and Museum is to place it in the forefront of
the community of Mattapoisett. It
will be a center that brings alive our vibrant history, preserving
the past for the benefit of the
future. The responsibilities of the Curator will be as follows:

Develop programs to bring
students and adults into
the museum
to acquaint them with the local history of our community.
·
Develop outreach programs to
take to schools, senior centers, churches, etc.,
and
collaborate with other historical societies to put together regional
programs.
·
Use our collections and
documents to develop displays, activities and exhibits
·
Manage public relations to
advertise programs, displays, activities and events
·
Archive materials pertinent to
the history of the town and regional influences
through
scrapbooks and cataloguing of artifacts.
·
Pursue all avenues of revenue
through grant writing, Annual Appeal and
development
of any other resources.
·
Clerical and computer skills
needed to keep up mailings lists, print labels,
work with
the website, put together brochures and pamphlets, work with
inventory, and keep files of all
correspondence.
